With offices based in Emsworth & Binsted, Hampshire, JB Architecture specialise in all aspects of architectural works including domestic alterations/extensions, new build developments and commercial projects.
Led by architect Jimmy Bessant (Architect Registration Board “ARB” member) and architectural technologist Sean Reading, JB Architecture provides a user-friendly architectural design service for both domestic and commercial clients throughout Hampshire, West Sussex & Surrey.

JIMMY BESSANT, ARCHITECT
Jimmy qualified as an architect in 2006 and has over 20 years of experience in the design and construction of buildings. Prior to forming JB Architecture Jimmy worked in a number of architectural practices in London, Southampton, and Chichester covering a wide range of sectors and leading projects of varied size and value from commercial projects through to domestic extensions.
Using his own experience and expertise from working in the social/affordable housing market Jimmy formed JB Architecture in 2014 targeting the domestic housing sector, creating spaces on a much more personal level, positively altering the way in which people live and engage with their homes. Whilst this area of work is still the mainstay of JB Architecture’s business, the practice also has the experience of working on a number of commercial projects as well as new build housing developments.
Jimmy's approach is friendly and transparent. His personable character makes for a good client/architect relationship, where ideas evolve to find the best possible solution for each client within the constraints of their brief and budget.
SEAN READING, ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
Sean joined JB Architecture Design Ltd in October 2018 and has over 18 years of experience working within local practices in Hampshire.
Previous body of work includes both large and small-scale extensions (residential and commercial), bespoke housing, social housing, and commercial and educational projects ranging in both size and value.
As a personable character, Sean is committed to assisting clients throughout the design process, helping them achieve the best possible outcome within their budget and requirements.
As a qualified architectural technologist, Sean handles all JB Architecture’s building regulation projects and construction detailing.
Sean has a good working relationship with many of the local planning authorities and building control bodies, he also has good links to a number of specialist consultants including structural engineers, surveyors and SAP assessors (Standard Assessment Procedure).
liam lancaster, ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST
Liam joined JB Architecture in January 2022 as an Architectural Technologist with 9 years of experience working for a Hampshire-based practice.
Using a friendly, client-led approach, Liam is able to develop unique designs that focus on enhancing the client’s ease of use and enjoyment of the property.
With experience working on a wide variety of private residential, commercial, and heritage projects, Liam has gained valuable experience and knowledge in all stages of the design and construction process. He particularly enjoys residential work and transforming unused space through creative design.
Liam has developed great working relationships with local building control authorities and consultants, ensuring the application process is as simple as possible for our clients.
